Pokemon: Takeshi, Kasumi, Satoshi, and Okido Shigeru

A trainer from the Kanto Region, Satoshi (Ash Ketchum) started his Pokemon trainer days with Pikachu as his starter Pokemon. Satoshi and his childhood rival, Okido Shigeru (Gary Oak) race to become the Pokemon League Champion as well as becoming one of the best Pokemon Trainers in the world.

Incidentally, Satoshi accidentally destroys Kasumi’s (Misty’s) bike, and she begins following him to get her bike back. The two eventually became friends, and Kasumi helps him out in training for his battle against Pewter Gym Leader, Takeshi (Brock).

Yu Yu Hakusho: Minamino Shuichi aka Kurama 06

After being fatally wounded, Youko Kurama, the demon thief, was left no choice but to fuse with the unborn child of Minamino Shiori. He was born as Minamino Shuichi, a human who retains his demon powers and consciousness at a much lower level. Kurama originally planned to return to his demon form after regenerating his powers, but a bond of love and loyalty forms between mother and son, one which Kurama could not bear to break. He then decided to stay with Shiori as her son.

Vocaloid 2: Kamui Gakupo 02

Although Gakupoid was originally set for release on June 2008 with Gackt as a model for the Vocaloid, its illustrated avatar was yet to be determined. Popular manga author Miura Kentarou of Berserk was finally asked to do the illustration, and due to his affection for Nico Nico Douga, he actually offered his services as a character designer for free. Gakupoid was thus released with Kamui Gakupo on the 31st of July 2008.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 03

Alois Trancy’s real name is Jim McCain, an abandoned orphan along with his younger brother Luca. Alois was angry at the villagers who mistreated them and thus began wishing for their deaths. Luca believed in him, stating the his brother could do anything he wanted. One fateful night, Alois’ wish came true, at the price of Luca’s life.

Vocaloid 2: Kagamine Len 07

Kagamine Len is currently the only male Vocaloid with Appends assigned to him. They added an additional 6 voicebanks in the Append on top of the originals; a total of 10 voicebanks and the most of any Vocaloid. The Kagamine’s Append was split and 3 recorded in two different scales for Rin and Len accordingly.

This is a pretty awesome costume for Len. I wonder where it’s from? Thanks to Tina for sharing this!

K-On!: Hirasawa Yui 04

A hard-worker when it comes to her guitar playing, Hirasawa Yui can have incredible focus when she has a clear goal in sight. Unfortunately, this is limited to only one subject as a time. In one incident, Yui had to make up for her test scores in math and while she was able to bring her skills up to par, her guitar skills deteriorated quickly. Nevertheless, Yui plays her guitar with amazing energy and joy, much to the delight of her audience.

This is pretty awesome! And if she’s willing to share, I’d like a donut too please!

After his parents were murdered, Ciel Phantomhive become a slave and a sacrifice for a religious cult ritual. While he was being tortured, however, his hatred grew for the people who took away his parents and freedom, summoning a demon Ciel named Sebastian Michaelis. It was then that Ciel sold his soul to the devil in order to gain the power to fulfill his revenge.

Final Fantasy XIII: Serah Farron

An 18-year old human from Cocoon, Serah Farron was born in Bodhum and is the younger sister of Lightning. After the loss of their parents, Lightning’s decision to raise Serah on her own unfortunately caused tensions between them. Worse, Serah’s engagement to Snow Villiers caused even more conflict as Lightning strongly objected to their relationship.

Hiiro no Kakera: Komura Yuuichi

An upperclassman of Kasuga Tamaki's, Komura Yuuichi is one of the five guardians who is a descendent of the nine-tailed fox. Yuuichi specializes in the use of illusions and spirit fire. He is very quiet, emotionless, and has the ability to sleep anywhere at anytime.

Bleach: Soi Fon 03

Captain of the 2nd Division and current Commander in Chief of the Secret Mobile Corps known as Onmitsukido, Soi Fon is a hard worker who believes strongly in following orders. She applies similar battle techniques to her master, Shihoin Yoruichi, engaging her opponents by using hand-to-hand combat with Shunko abilities. After asking Yoruichi why she did not take her when she left Soul Society, Yoruichi’s answer was not heard, but the two made amends.

HeartCatch PreCure!: Cure Marine

People would think that after all these years of writing for this cosplay blog that I would know a lot about different characters from anime, manga and games.

Well, you’d be wrong, because I get surprises like this in my inbox quite often!

To be completely honest, the first character that came to mind when I saw this was Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon… a stylized version of her anyway! But I’m pretty sure this is not the case.

You guys know the drill, comment and discuss who she could be in the comments, but I hope you guys can leave your name next time so that I can credit you properly if you guess right! Digimon: Angewomon 02

Gatomon’s natural Ultimate Form, Angewomon first appeared at the sacrifice of Wizardmon during the final battle against Myotismon. She is rivals with LadyDevimon though their rivalry is more of a personal, feminine level. Like Angemon, Angewomon is considerably more powerful than other ultimate level digimon.

Beautiful Angewomon cosplay! And I’m guessing fans will not mind that she’s not wearing her valkyrie helmet. Thanks to Jocelyn for sending this in!

Final Fight: Poison

Poison first appeared in the side-scrolling action game known as Final Fight. The character was originally planned to be female, but was changed to a male transvestite due to the suggestion that hitting women were considered rude in America during the game’s release. When asked about the matter, Street Fighter IV’s producer Ono Yoshinori stated:

“Let's set the record straight: In North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female.”

Interesting information on this character that I’ve never even heard of. Hope that doesn’t scare her fans away… Thanks to Michelle for sharing this!

Black Rock Shooter: Black Rock Shooter 03

A character that was labeled as a black clad Hatsune Miku, Black Rock Shooter became her own entity on September 20, 2009. Crypton, the company that created Miku, announced that Black Rock Shooter has no relation with the Vocaloid character.

Black Rock Shooter is 15-years-old and is well known for her massive projectile weapons. The Black Canon can shoot up to 20 rocks per second, but she is also seen with a sword known as the Black Blade.

I think that’s a rather unique interpretation of the blue flame erupting from her eye. As the contributor Fernandez said, “this cosplay’s sizzling hot”!

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Hanyu

I have a feeling I know who she's cosplaying as, but the name of the series escapes me.

I’m guessing she’s a demon because of those horns, but isn’t she wearing a miko’s kimono as well? Or maybe a variation of the traditional shrine maiden?

I can’t help thinking she looks a lot like Kagami from Lucky Stars though.
