Final Fantasy IX: Zidane Tribal

A Genome created by Garland on the planet Terra, Zidane Tribal was created to replace Kuja as a more powerful “Angel of Death”. However, Kuja became jealous of his successor and cast Zidane down to Gaia, where he was found by Baku and his group of thieves, Tantalus.

Before the events of the game, Zidane left Baku in search of his real home with only his memory of a blue light to guide him. He was unsuccessful in his quest and returned to Baku to rejoin Tantalus.

Bleach: Kurosaki Ichigo 03

While training under Urahara Kisuke to become a Soul Reaper with his own powers, Kurosaki Ichigo partially becomes a hollow, the same evil spirit that he is fighting to protect people from. This leaves him with an insane inner hollow spirit that tries to take control of his body to fight. Within his inner world, the hollow mirrors Ichigo’s appearance, usually with pale white skin and hair, revealing black eyes with golden pupils.

Vampire Knight: Kiryuu Ichiru

Zero's younger identical twin brother, Ichiru failed to become a Vampire Hunter due to his weak body and lack of hunter talents. He was believed to have been killed by the pure-blood vampire, Hio Shizuka, but he returned to Zero’s side 4 years later, revealing that he had willingly become Shizuka’s servant. She had given him her blood to cure his chronic illness in exchange for his loyalty, but she did not turn him into a vampire.

Amore’s twin, Artemisia makes a great Ichiru, much like how Amore makes an awesome Zero. Twins cosplaying twins; can’t go wrong there! Thanks again for allowing me to post this!

Dissidia: Final Fantasy: Squall Leonhart 02

Squall Leonhart is the hero representing Final Fantasy VIII in the fighting game, Dissidia: Final Fantasy. His personality was designed to reflect the original in the previous game. He and the entire cast have been confirmed to appear in the sequel, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Minamino Shuichi aka Kurama 06

After being fatally wounded, Youko Kurama, the demon thief, was left no choice but to fuse with the unborn child of Minamino Shiori. He was born as Minamino Shuichi, a human who retains his demon powers and consciousness at a much lower level. Kurama originally planned to return to his demon form after regenerating his powers, but a bond of love and loyalty forms between mother and son, one which Kurama could not bear to break. He then decided to stay with Shiori as her son.

So pretty! I want to have hair like that too. First found on Kurama Otaku’s Tumblr!

Death Note: Yagami Light 04

According to Oba Tsugumi, the story writer of Death Note, Light sees Amane Misa, whom he uses as an accomplice, as a “bad person” and therefore acts cold towards her and manipulates her to the point of pretending to love her and even promising marriage to her. He did not kill her simply because of her shinigami, Rem, who threatened to kill him if Misa dies earlier than her time. Light was, however, able to manipulate Rem, who died extending Misa’s life by killing both Watari and L to save her.

Quite an impressive cosplay by Lawllipop-Bag! I don’t remember seeing those “wings” in the anime; I wonder if they’re Rem’s or something that Lawllipop-Bag came up with herself? Thanks to Billy for sending this in!

Rurouni Kenshin: Kamiya Kaoru and Takani Megumi

Kaoru first met Megumi when Kenshin and Sanosuke brought her home from the gambling house where they were playing dice. She was furious that Kenshin brought a female stranger into her home and Megumi sensed that Kaoru was actually jealous. Megumi then plays the flirt and makes several advances towards Kenshin, which he handles nervously and refrains from submitting to. Megumi successfully makes Kaoru jealous at just about anything throughout the series.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Lelouch Lamperouge 08

Lelouch Lamperouge may be outstanding when it comes to intellect, but he proved to be physically underwhelming throughout the series. He is constantly outpaced by his classmates in every situation, and even the simplest of tasks requiring manual labor exhaust him before he manages to complete anything significant. He does, however, display above average hand-eye coordination, both with firearms and the keyboard-based control system of the Shinkiro.

The cosplayer’s eyes are really captivating in this photo. Even his/her pose is very much in character, but I wish we could see the cosplayer’s face. Thanks again to Müberra for sending this in!

Naruto: Tenten

Tenten is the only female member of Team Guy, and she longs to prove that a female ninja can be just as skilled as any male ninja. Of all of the protagonists in the series, Tenten receives the least amount of screen time. However, series creator Kishimoto Masashi favors her design more than any other female characters he created. Her Japanese Seiyuu is Tamura Yukari and her English voice actor is Danielle Judovits.

Blood+: Otonashi Saya

Born in 1833 from one of two cocoon-like objects taken from the belly of a chiropteran mummy, Saya was adopted by Joel Goldschmidt and treated as his daughter, while her sister Diva, who was initially left nameless, was locked in tower. Saya did not know about Diva’s existence until 1863, when she heard Diva singing and gave her a name. During a birthday party for Joel, however, Diva’s true nature emerges, as she was released to sing in the party but ended up slaughtering everyone in the Goldschmidt household. Saya then spent her periods of activity hunting Diva, trying to kill her, her chevaliants, and any chiropterans they have created.

It’s a bit scary and disturbing, but I’m hoping that’s fake blood on Lenneth’s hands. Thanks to Katrina for sending this and to Razin for the awesome photography!

Vocaloid 2: Megurine Luki and Megurine Luka

Now here is a Megurine Luka cosplay you don’t get to see everyday.

I thought they were two Lukas at first, but apparently, he is actually Luki, the genderbent version of Luka. Luki sings one or two octaves lower than Luka, giving her a male voice despite using the same voice configuration. Among the Japanese fandom, voice configuration is often the way Genderbent Vocaloids are created.

Final Fantasy VII: Tifa Lockhart 04

Tifa Lockhart’s character was developed to use the “Martial Artist” character class that appeared in previous games in the Final Fantasy series. Nomura Tetsuya described Tifa to have several dimensions, calling her “like a mother, a sweetheart, and a close ally in battle” and “remarkably strong, not only emotionally, but physically as well”.

Nomura initially had difficulty deciding whether to give her a mini-skirt or long pants, so he passed his sketches around Square’s offices and the majority approved of the mini-skirt design.

Does this mean most of the people who work in Square are guys? Then again, I like the mini-skirt design too and I’m a girl! Hee!

Naruto: Shippuden: Hyuga Hinata

Inspired by Naruto's confidence and determination, Hinata's infatuation over him affects her training in a good way as she tries her best to win his attention by continually improving her skills and helping him out. While Hinata is hesitant to openly admit her feelings for him, almost everyone else knows about it. In Shippuden, she finally confesses her love to Naruto while protecting him from Pain, but there has been no follow up to her confession as of yet.

Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle: Syaoran and Sakura 03

As the story progressed, it was revealed that Syaoran was a clone of another teenager created by the sorcerer Fei-Wang Reed, in order to find Sakura’s feathers no matter what the cost. The original Syaoran managed to place some of his “heart” within the clone’s right eye, which allowed him to develop a personality of his own. Once the seal was broken, however, Syaoran lost all his emotions and was used by Fei-Wang to collect Sakura’s feathers throughout dimensions on his own, betraying all of his friends in the process.

The concept behind the clones in Tsubasa really confuses me, but I really like this cosplay done by Hagaren and Hu Li! Please visit Hagaren’s gallery for more photos!

Gintama: Kondo Isao

The goofy commander of the Shinsengumi, Kondo Isao takes his job seriously and will not hesitate to sacrifice his life in order to protect his people. All of the members of the Shinsengumi are fiercely loyal to him, seeing as they revere him for being the one to give them back their swords after the Sword Prohibition Act. Sogo Okita often remarks that their commander’s nice attitude is also his weak point because he never notices negative points about other people.
