Crazy Dan's Manga and DVD Sale

Felt like I would have some fun as I am a bit crazy (well, actually psychotic - crazy is for normal people).

I have been milling around the idea to sell some of my collection again as I hate carrying boxes. Especially boxes of books - my back hates me when I move them. These are some completed series, but mostly ongoing series of Manga that I own that I would like to sell to a good home.

I am even going crazy with the pricing, but I am only selling the sets and not individual manga. I want to give people who have not started a series or want one that they can pick them up at a stupid price.

I am even offering this to the International community as I know these are not easy to come at these prices. Sets will be sold at $4.00 USD per book per set (if you have 5 book set, cost is $20.00, 3 book set = $12.00 . . . ) plus shipping costs (which will be as close to actual costs as I can get). Now the more sets you get, the more I take off ALL the Manga.

What I mean by that is that for each set you buy, I will drop $0.25 off the cost of each book. This stops at $3.00 per book minimum as I can't give them away. Here is the breakdown for ya:
  • 1 set = $4.00 per book per set
  • 2 sets = $3.75 per book per set
  • 3 sets = $3.50 per book per set
  • 4 sets = $3.25 per book per set
  • 5 or more sets = $3.00 per book per set
This is my way of helping you get some great reads at ridiculous prices. Here is the Manga I have to sell:
  • Soul Eater ~ vol 1 - 5
  • Dance in the Vampire Bund ~ vol 1 - 9
  • 20th Century Boys ~ vol 1 - 12
  • Nightschool, the Weirn Books ~ vol 1 - 4
  • Tegami Bachi ~ vol 1 - 4
  • Rosario + Vampire ~ vol 1 - 12 (complete set)
  • Rosario + Vampire, Season 2 ~ vol 1 - 4
  • Yokai Doctor ~ vol 1 - 3
  • Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei, vol 1 - 5
  • The King of Debris ~ vol 1 - 2
  • Gunsmith Cats, Revised Edition ~ vol 1 - 4 (complete set)
  • Ral Grad ~ vol 1 - 4 (complete set)
  • Hero Tales ~ vol 1 - 4
  • The Dark Hunters ~ vol 1
  • Jing: King of Bandits - Twilight Tales ~ vol 1
  • Dorohedoro ~ vol 1 - 2
  • Eureka Seven - Manga Collection ~ vol 2
  • Shaman Warrior ~ vol 1 - 9 (complete set)
  • Shoulder - A - Coffin ~ vol 1 - 2
Now for the DVD's, I am selling these by the sets as well. I decided to just make these easier and just charge a flat price for each. I have noted the prices next to each one on sale.
  • Appleseed Limited Collector's Edition ~ $3.00
  • Appleseed ExMachina Collector's Edition ~ $3.00
  • Vexille
  • Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children ~ $3.00
  • Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie, Conqueror of Shamballa, Special Edition Set ~ $4.00
  • Ragnarok - The Animation ~ vol 1- 3 (complete set) ~ $6.00
  • Magic Knight Rayearth2, DVD Memorial Box Set ~ vol 1 - 7 ~ $8.00
  • Future GPX Cyberformula Complete Collection ~ vol 1 - 8 (dubbed only) ~ $8.00
There may be some shelf wear or spine creases for the large manga. All of these come from a smoke free home and are in Like New condition. They have all been read or watched, so they are not new, but lovingly used :)

Leave a comment here with your desires as it is first come first get. Also drop me an email at bluedrakon (at) gmail (dot) com so I can review the shipping cost with you. If in the US, it will be Media Mail, International will be First Class if possible.

Queen's Blade Card Collecting

I have had a binder full of Queen's Blade Illustration and Gaming cards. I was really into it when they came out and worked feverishly to get them. It was an expensive task I must say perusing eBay, and normal Japanese sites to get boxes. I got a binder for them for the 9 card sleeves and just enjoyed opening the foil packs to see what wonders were in them.

First were the Illustration cards I believe. They were a bit of an odd size at about 55mm by 84mm or I think the size of a phone card (but not sure). Each had a full color front with their names and then the book statistics on the back. Like all illustration card sets, there were chase cards as well (rare cards). What made this a bit old fashion for me was that they came 1 card to a pack with a checklist and piece of gum (wrapped as well). I did get the regular series fine, but the special cards, not so much.

Then came the Gaming cards. It is pretty much the book pages in card format. Since I could not afford all the books, why not try this direction. I got boxes from the first 2 series at a reasonable price and got most of them all. Then came the 3rd series and the box prices nearly doubled. When they released series 4 and 5, I was exhausted and stopped collecting them. With the duplicates I had, they were either sold or traded to other collectors I could find.

On top of it all, to get all the promo cards, you needed to buy other stuff as well. I did manage to get some though through normal channels (eBay - LOL). Then there was the Pre-build set boxes that came with the regular series (usually 2 different ones). This did give me some rares, but a large amount of dups as well.

This brings me to what happened the other day. It seemed someone found my card list on my website Green Dragons Den (showcases my original art collection). I have a page setup for my card collections there. From all the way around the world in Australia, they wanted to know if I would trade. Since they have been doing nothing and not sure what to I was going to do with them, I will be trading some of them. I hope to get some cards for my Ghost in the Shell Amada series that I can't find.

Now what this means for you - if anyone knows someone who wants to start or is collecting these cards, drop me a line. As you can see I am open to international shipping. I will trade singles or sell the whole damn collection to any interested party.

For those wondering, Yes, they are Near Mint/Mint condition and are from a smoke free home.

HobbyLink Japan Removing All Sales for BIG UPDATE

I got this email from HobbyLink Japan (HLJ) today and wanted to make sure I got this out to everyone. Not sure if you are on their mailing list, but may want to add yourself for these updates.

Summary: They are adjusting their pricing structure due the increase the Japanese Yen has seen over the last years. So they are removing all the Sales as of 10/01 at 6pm JST and bringing them back later at regular pricing (see below for details).

Here it the email message I got:

So what are we going to do about it?

Anybody who has shopped with HLJ for more than the last few months shares our pain. Since 2007, the Japanese yen has risen over 40% in value against the euro and US dollar. And since we price our products in yen, that means you've been paying more for everything at HLJ.

Over the last year or so, we've run many different special sales to try to help offset the higher yen, but we've decided we think there's a better way. So starting next week, HLJ is going to start rolling out a new "our price" system on many of the brands and items we carry. These items will always be offered lower than the manufacturer's suggested retail price. And what's more, we're also rethinking our special sales, too. There will be fewer of them, but we think you'll find them more attractive than ever before.

As we prepare to roll out our new system, we've decided to end every sale currently taking place at HLJ this Friday, October 1st at 6pm JST. And for a few days after that, everything will be offered at its regular price only. So if you've had your eye on something discounted at HLJ, be sure to buy now! You can peruse everything with a special price at HLJ on our sales page.

Of course I wish we could just manipulate currency rates directly (who doesn't?). But since we can't, we're just going to do our best to make it as easy as possible for you to get all the great hobby and anime stuff from Japan and the world that you know and love.

Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for all of your business with HLJ.

Don't Get Mad - Order New Figures

I really am not a normal person by any stretch of the imagination. Normally if a guy gets mad, he just finds something to punch and usually breaks his hand on the wall (been there and done that)  But now that I am older, when I get mad, I go Shopping!

I was on eBay and saw that the R-Style figures have been out for Yoko (Reg and Space version) and Nia. Now I was not going to pay crazy prices as I have a budget. I did some shopping around and found them at a fair price at ABCTOY4ME.You should check out the stuff they have on Sale as they do have some other great items. I would of loved to have gotten Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny - Chou'un Shiryuu SMC 1/8 Scale Figure or Oneechan Bara Aya 1/8 Scale PVC Figure as well.

I have also been wanting the Dark Brigade versions of Rei and Asuka. They were only $9.95 each and finally added them to my order. I think they make a great pair and totally different from anything else you see them paired as.

UPDATE: Out of Rei so only getting Asuka @#$%^*&, now I have to find Rei!

To finish up my purchasing, I decided to get something on sale as well for my wife. Since she loves Fruits Basket, I grabbed her a stuffed Yoki in Mouse form.

Not sure why is she was the reason I was mad - but I still love her (aw factor on that one guys and gals). I have not told her I got it, but if she reads my blog, she will get a heads up.

Hope to have these in hand next week, but not sure.
