COSPLAY ALERT!

Metro Comic Convention is this weekend! there will be cosplayers, anime voice actors, game designers and what's great is that it's going to be in SM Megamall Megatradehall! I'll also be a guest panelist on Day 1. Below is the schedule of activities:

DAY 1 – August 21, Saturday
10:00 Gates open

12:00-1:00pm – Band Performance – WETT DOGG

1:00pm-2:00pm – Game Developer’s Association Panel
Get an in-depth scoop on the Video Gaming industry in the Philippines, and find out more about how involved Pinoy Talents are in the development and production of your favorite games!

2:00pm-3:00pm – Kartunista Panel (moderated by EJ Howard)
Meet, greet, and listen to the talented men and women behind your favorite cartoon strips HAZEL MANZANO (Callwork), LYNDON GREGORIO (Beerkada), FREELY ABRIGO (Kulas), ANDREW VILLAR (Ambush) and MANIX ABRERA (Kiko Machine) as they talk about things such as their creative processes, latest releases, and more!

4:00pm-6:00pm – Cosplay Competition (Intermission by Cloud 9)Who would you wanna be for a day? Dress up and join the Cosplay Competition made possible by Cosplay.ph! And watch out for the intermission treat from fast-rising all-female group CLOUD 9!

7:00pm-8:00pm – Awarding of Contest WinnersThe best of the best from each of our cool contests get rewarded for their awesomeness!

DC Comics 75th Year Power Up! Super Heroes Challenge in SM Megamall Building A Events Center

DC gears for 75th anniversary, Protecting and entertaining the Universe

We have known DC comics as the makers of classics like superman, batman and many other superheroes who belonged to the Justice League. It has been 75 years since that first comic book was released andmade the legacy. Now in line with this celebration, DC comics have revealved their activities at a Press launch at the Podium.

For this year, June will be the celebrating month for the DC anniversary as it is the major presentor of the Toy Convention 2010 that will be held at SM Megamall. The TOYCON will also feature programs and activities like cosplay and toy auctions that are DC Comic characters. The TOYCON also aims of gathering the most number of DC Comic Characters in Cosplay. There is also a event wherein they will setup a challenging trail (wall climbing, ropes and other things) set up inside the mall for those thrillseekers who has superhero guts. 

DC mechandise will also be part of the celebration with apparel and school supplies with DC chaacters. Penshoppe also has its own line of DC comic fever with desgner shirts. Of course, television shows like Batman Brave and te Bold, Justice League, Smallville still dominates the air which actually paved the way for the celebration.

FInally, on 2011, many will be anticipating the premiere of the GREEN LANTERN staring Ryan Rennolds in theaters. But within this year we will also get excited for the filmadaptation of Jonah Hex, a DC comic which was  drawn by a Fiilipino, Tony DeZuniga . So this shows that DC is also very greatful for patronizing the characters and their merchandise. As it still expands its universe, there will be more things in the future we will look foward to as DC comics never stops in entertaining and saving the universe.
