Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao: "Bye Bye Cosplay"

Alodia's gonna say bye-bye for cosplaying or should I say she already decided to part ways with cosplay. It's kinda odd for us that the Cosplay Goddess will give up her title for the reason of she wants to go back as a student. I still remember the days that I'm featuring Alodia and for what I think on that time, she will be the one who will represent the country as one of the finest cosplayer in the world on the cosplay field just like Manny Pacquiao on the boxing field and Efren "Bata" Reyes and D'Jango Bustamante on Billiards. As of the moment, the popularity of cosplay is already on the blooming stage and every local TV station consider Cosplay as one of the major trends. But now, Alodia will quit cosplay and a lot of her fans really disappointed on that move.

Yesterday, when I watched the video of Alodia of saying bye-bye to cosplay, I must say, I'm totally disappointed that Alodia, as a cosplay fanatic just turned down cosplay on her sleeve but I guess there must be a big reason behind it. Couldn't be her maturity to form a name on the showbiz industry? There's a lot of question behind it but I guess whatever reason that she have, I guess it's her way to say, I really want to grow up just like the other artist.

I guess on that decision of yours Cosplayer Alodia, we're just here or should I say, I'm just here to support you and I don't want to say bye-bye or sayonara to you, I want to say "see you soon Alodia". You will be our Cosplay Goddess. If you want to watch that said video of her, just refer to this link: Alodia Gosiengfiao - Bye Bye Cosplay

Cosplayer Goddess Alodia Gosiengfiao on Kotaku - Cosplay: "It's not just dressing-up"

International-Filipina Cosplayer or should I say "The Cosplay Goddess" Alodia Gosiengfiao have another appearance on a popular game blog Kotaku and this time, Alodia answers some of the questions about Cosplay and everything under the sun. And that brings me on the question, what is cosplay/cosplaying? Here are some definitions of some popular sites that I've found on the net.

Cosplay - short for "costume play", is type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea (Wikipedia)

A subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands; To do cosplay (Wiktionary)

(Costume Play): A very popular activity during anime conventions, also referred to as masquerading. It consists of dressing up as an anime or video game character to participate in contests or simply for fun (Anime Academy)

Dressing up as anime and manga characters. Cosplay competitions held at conventions allow fans (known as 'cosplayers') dress up as their favourite characters, pose for pictures and win prizes. (Animetion)

Short for "costume play," this aspect of anime culture often draws attention at cons and anime clubs. Basically, it is dressing up as one's favorite anime (or in some cases, video game or movie) character. (Animeforlibraries)
On that article, some of the questions were already answered by Alodia from the past mini fans day and events here in the Philippines but as I've read the whole article, every little answers of her makes a unique meaning. For her, this is what cosplay is all about - "It's not just dressing-up.". You can read the full article here.

On the end note, some may called cosplay/cosplaying a weird thing to do but for some enthusiasts like me it's a self-confidence booster that when you're portraying an anime or a game character, you feel like you have the power or should I say guts just like the character that you're portraying. Also on cosplaying, creative and emotion are always present. Almost forgot to say thanks to Mike Abundo for sharing the link in Facebook (Give me five!).

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao featured in Music Video of DJ Myke's Single Huling Araw (Last Day)

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao smiling beautifully :)

I've been looking on my news feed in Facebook and found a nice share that came from CSCentral fan page. It's the music video of DJ Myke's single Huling Araw (Last Day) featuring Alodia Gosiengfiao. I thought she was Katrina Halili on her look on that music video (peace Alodia) and stuck by 10 seconds. The concept of the video was ordinary and already saw that concept on some popular artists but frankly speaking, what's up with the voice doug! I really like the whole lyrics, the music arrangement and most especially Alodia Gosiengfiao as an artist of the music video. I was kinda worried that she can't surpass that but from start to finish, she was that good. That inspires me to do an original composition again.

For DJ Myke, you have a nice voice and really on the track. I'm looking for more exposure on this artist because of the voice quality. Well paging Party Pilipinas, ASAP and PO5, you need to consider this artist on your line up of singers. For Alodia, I'm really looking for more music videos this 2011 and I hope you consider some Jazz or Soul artist, sitting on a piano and making the most out of it.

Anyway, I will share the video here and really worth to watch. Also support Globe Tattoo campaign like we supported Alodia on her career as a cosplayer, a host, and an artist.

My, my, my... Alodia Gosiengfiao on her Yukata outfit. One word to say on this one, "Lovely". As you all know, she recently attended a Cosplay Summit that was held in Ateneo and really she's that lovely on that event.

I can't take my eyes on her with those outfit. Well we all know that Alodia Gosiengfiao considered as one of the gorgeous babe lined-up on the cosplay field but on that note I guess on the record, one of the best so far. She looks like one of those Japanese girls I know when I was at Chino City and I remember Nozomi Sazaki on her but I will take it on the Pinay side. She's so accommodating as ever, knowing that she's a star right now and that's what I love about Alodia. She didn't take a lot of big things on her head and I hope she will not change on that kind of attitude.

I don't have much information about the Toyota event that Alodia mentioned on her Facebook fan page

But still I will just blog it because it's considered as one of the biggest event and of course my favorite cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao was on the Toyota's Thanksgiving Media Party as the host of that event. If you're not contented on the presence of Alodia, the band Yes Ma'am have this exposure on the said event, which is an all-girl band that Ashley Gosiengfiao (little sister of Alodia), is one of the member of that band as the Lead guitarist/2nd Vocals.

Wow! Another big company on her sleeve. I guess a matter of days, week, month and years that Alodia may be consider as one of the in-demand stars of the big companies here in the Philippines. Still Cosplayer studio will be here to support no matter what.

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as a host at the recent Microsoft's Who Dunn It Event

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as sexy as ever as The Baroness III while hosting the event

Alodia striked a hosting job again! On the recent Whodunnit.com, which is featured by Microsoft Philippines for the developers and IT experts, they considered Alodia Gosiengfiao to be the front act on the said event. What a lucky doll! I've read some of her post about the said event and really laugh on this status:

On our way home.. Gosh, being The Baroness is quite hard, they intercepted my guns when we were heading towards the Microsoft event I was hosting... Yes, I look like terrorist... Heels, shiny leather, sparkly cobras, here to terrorize the area! LOL

Well I will just say to that post, "If you will be the terrorist, I will propose to be your slave for life!"

I guess the popularity of Alodia Gosiengfiao was on the run right now consider a major endorsement like Microsoft which is one of the influencial company not only in the Philippines but worldwidely considerable as one of the biggest company to deal with. I'm also curious on the concept of Whodunnit.com projecting a concept like Cosplay. Is it the logo of their event? I guess I need to go on research on that one and will update this post if I can have some information about that. The next question will be, what will be the next endorsement of Alodia? Or do you have any idea or guess?
