Project Natal Xbox 360 - really an "X"box

The other day my Manager sent us this link on the new upcoming Xbox feature. It is kind of Big Brotherish, but I found it interesting. I mean, being able to play a game with no controllers with both face AND voice recognition was quite amazing.

I of course in my demented little mind had already taken this to the next level. Can you imagine all those Dating SIMS and poor lonely guys on a couch somewhere having the time of their life.

On that same night at home, I visit Sankaku Complex and find my thoughts were actually showcased. Here is one of the images from the article. I mean WOW - just WOW - what new family fun - LMFAO!

All I got is a silly Wii Console - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Useless USB Devices

I decided to search for some useless USB devices that were just made to make you laugh or go WTF? I know these may not really qualify for "Cool Gadgets", but like noted - it is really funny and a nice way to waste computer power.

My friend got this crazy humping dog as a Christmas gift last year. I showed this to him a while back and we got a laugh that someone actually bought him one. And as noted, it just humps your computer, but luckily that's all it does. I noted that they have expanded the breeds of the dog so you get to include a Husky, Doberman and a Shiba in your collection.

If you want one, hit up ThinkGeek and drop $10 - 15 plus shipping for each.

Humping Dogs

I guess they had to take it one step up on the next round of Dog type USB devices to include Dog Crunchers. I wish I had a 6-pack stomach like these guys.

Crunching Dogs

Not to be outdone by a dog or 2, here are the Crunching M.U.S.C.L.E. men (Kinniku Man manga fans) for about $34.13.

Now for a useless USB device that actually does a couple things, there is the Chameleon. It will sit on top of your monitor nicely. But wait, there is more, it rolls its eyes and flicks his tongue in & out. So if you live in the woods, this may be a great thing to have to catch the mosquito's.

Chameleon Monitor Watcher
Last but not least, here is something for those of you locked in a cubicle with no way to be entertained. It is the Shaking Hip for only $26.00 plus shipping. You of course can get to pick your choice of underwear color and design to best suit your environment or tastes.

That's it for now as I go surfing for more Cool Gadgets! Do you have any of these and what do you think of them?

Life Size Computer Mods

I found this while surfing for some interesting articles on custom anime computer mods. I have to say this took some great imagination and planning. These were done by Katsuya Matsumura several years ago, but you would think they were done just recently. Some of the designs were done by other artist that worked to create these pieces.

He worked with plastic tubing, Styrofoam, paints and all the wondrous electronics of the day. You will see that these were built very meticulously had with great patience. He has a eye for details that leave you gasping at how well they have been constructed.

For being done in 2002 to 2005, I think he did a marvelous job with the placement of the hardware.
Some of these would be quite practical while others would be just damn cool to have next to your desk while working. Here are some of the examples that I especially liked:

Gundam RX-78 Construction

Gundam RX-78 Final (2002)

Maya Internal Workings

Maya Final (2003)

Kana Internal Workings

Kana Final (2004)

On the Beach Internal Workings

On the Beach Final (2005)

Evangelion Mousepad & Calculator

Here is another installment of cool gadgets. I have switched from Transformers to Neon Genesis Evangelion gadgets. There are a load of these as the anime is a big hit with everyone. Lets start by introducing some items that were easily found on Akihabara News.

This is a cool set for anyone's computer desktop. It is a mouse, mouse pad and calculator. Now these were only available in the Japanese market as of May 2009.

The mouse pad & Mouse are from the Third Angel Sachiel. I thought is was cool to have the "head" as the movable mouse and the mouse pad as the "body".

You even get a Neon Genesis Evangelion 01 Calculator that folds close for easy storage and transporting around town. Please note however that the calculator keys are in Japanese Kanji. So if you can not read it, it still makes a cool collectors item (even if plastic).

Personally I would get this for the Mouse & Pad and so much for the calculator.

Transformer Headphones & MP3 Players

Found some more cool Transformer Gadgets that work! These seem to be older products, so I do not have any links for them to purchase from. I was sorry that I missed them when they came out as these would of been a nice addition to any one's collection. I did find several of these on eBay that are selling for about $30 and up.

Now you can transform and jam to the tunes at the same time. If you want to be private about it, then you can use the headphones to have some "me" time.

Soundwave Blue MP3 Player

Soundwave White MP3 Player

Soundwave Black MP3 Player

Here is the newest MP3 Player featuring Bumblebee from the 2007 Transformers Movie. You can find it at Amazon for your pleasure and I am sure many other sites.

Does anyone have any of these and if so how well do they work?

Transformer Computer Laser Mouse

Here is an addition to my earlier blog about the Transformer USB devices. Now you can even get more to add to your Transformer collection.

They have create a laser computer mouse that you can transform. You even have a choice between 2 different types of the dinosaur ones (Grimlock is one of them and Dinasauler is the other). These are available for preorder from J-List at $58.00 each. This is much more better pricing point as I have spent about that on my gaming mouse.

Grimlock Laser Mouse

Dinasauler Laser Mouse

So get ready and place your orders now because I know you want this. You can say you are getting it for your kid or cousin so your significant other does not give you those strange looks (like mine does).

Specs: Standard 3-button mouse with a center scrolling button. It connects via your USB port and works with Windows98/Me/2000/XP/Vista and MAC.

Transformer USB Drives

So how many Transformer Toys do you have? Don't you just wish there was a gadget that actually worked that was a transformer and not all those toys?

Well. just when you thought the Transformer Stuff could not get any cooler - IT DOES! They have create a 2GB USB drives that you can transform. You even have a choice between 2 different types of the cat ones (Ravage is one of them and Tigertron is the other). These are available for preorder from J-List at $40.00 each.

Ravage 2GB USB

Tigertron 2GB USB

I know what you are thinking, I can get a 2GB drive much cheaper than that crazy price. I know you can, but can it transform - hummmm - I think not!

Oh and you are tired of your plan 4-Port USB Hub? Well we got your answer for that as well. Check out the Autobot Blaster. This looks like a Netbook and also transforms into the Autobot Blaster. Now this is $58.00, but it can transform as well - how cool that?
