Sound Horizon Playlist

“ Sound Horizon, abbreviated by fans as Sanhora (サンホラ), is a Japanese musical group with composer Revo as the leader. They call themselves the "fantasy band" and have released their works that closely resemble suites.

Their music is generally in omnibus style; an album contains multiple stories with different themes that create one long story. Soprano or mezzo-soprano vocals are mainly utilized. Usage of narration is not restrained. Strong anime influences and applications are apparent in their music; they have started inviting seiyū for narration since their major debut. Their lyrics are very often mysterious and metaphorical, even more so than those of other J-rock musicians, with themes varying from fantastic ones like ancient curse, legend, dreams, war, and paradise to forbidden lust, longing, obsession, crime, relationships, etc.”

Guess what ? A bunch of fans from Singapore has come together to organise the first ever Sound Horizon only event! Spearheaded by Kanaunara, this is also the team that brought us the wonderful Axis Power Hetalia event last year so you know it’s good stuff

The gathering will have two parts. One (07/16) will be the gathering itself, and the other (08/07) will be the screening of the Märchen live DVD.

Sound Horizon: Marchen

The main character of the fantasy symphonic rock band, Sound Horizon's 7th Story CD, Marchen tells the dark side of fairytales such as Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. All the songs in the album contain the same identical verse arranged in different styles representing the similarities of the stories.

Cool cosplay! I need to get my hands on an album from this band to see what the hype is all about. Thanks again to Cherokee for sending this in!

Sound Horizon: Hortensia and Violette

Twins who are the exact opposites of one another, Hortensia and Violette were first featured in the album “Roman” by fantasy band, Sound Horizon. They represent day and night as well as life and death.

Aren’t they adorable? I wish I could read Japanese so that I’d know what’s written on the photograph though. Thanks to Timmy for sending this!

Sound Horizon: Violette and Hortensia

Violette and Hortensia are Hiver Laurent’s twin dolls who represent night and day as well as death and life respectively. In order to find the meaning of life, Hiver searches for stories that involve life and death.

Sound Horizon’s most popular album, "Roman" is a collection of such stories where each song represents one romantic story.

Aren’t they beautiful? They really look like dolls, though maybe not twins. Great cosplay!

Sound Horizon: Hiver Laurent

It’s frustrating to find beautiful cosplays and have no idea who they’re portraying.

There’s a certain charm for this image… S/he reminds me of Kuroro from Hunter x Hunter, but I seriously doubt this is him.

Anyone have any guesses to share?
